How Many Tacos Per Person Should You Order for a Party?

Three mesquite-grilled street tacos with toppings

The rule of thumb: 4 to 5 per adult

After ten years of Las Vegas taquizas, our math is consistent: plan 4 to 5 street tacos per adult and 2 to 3 per child. Street tacos are smaller than restaurant tacos, and guests always eat more when the meat comes off a live mesquite grill.

When to round up

Round up to 6 per adult for dinner-hour parties with no other main dish, events with teenagers or work crews, and any party where the taquiza is the headline. Round down toward 3 to 4 when there is a full buffet alongside, heavy appetizers, or a late-night taco bar after a served dinner.

Why unlimited service beats counting

The honest secret: with our full-service packages you do not count tacos at all. The station serves unlimited rounds for two hours, so the planning question becomes guest count, not taco count. You pay per person, everyone eats until they are done, and nobody hovers over the last tray.

If you are ordering trays for a drop-off instead, use the per-person rule above and add one extra pound of meat per 10 guests as a buffer. Leftover mesquite carne asada has never once been a problem.
